Sleep Apnea Appliances in Honolulu, HI

Compact and much more comfortable than traditional CPAP devices

Dealing with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) isn’t always easy, but we know just how important it is to manage this sleep disorder in order to maintain good quality sleep and good health; however, we also know that not everyone is an ideal candidate for CPAP therapy, the standard sleep apnea treatment. If you’ve been told that CPAP isn’t right for you, or if you only have mild OSA, our dentist Dr. William Lee may be able to provide you with a sleep apnea appliance to manage symptoms and improve your sleep.

To alleviate sleep apnea symptoms, our dentist Dr. William Lee can provide you with a custom-made oral appliance. Oral appliance therapy is a great option for patients dealing with milder forms of OSA but can also be a great alternative for someone who isn’t right for CPAP.

Of course, oral appliance therapy may also be used in conjunction with CPAP therapy to provide patients dealing with more severe forms of OSA with even greater improvements in their sleep quality (when CPAP alone may not be enough). So, we find that many of our patients who’ve been diagnosed with this sleep disorder can benefit, in some form, from oral appliance therapy.

We offer free consultations on all of our dental services, so if you’ve been suffering from sleep apnea and this is the first time you’re hearing about another option besides CPAP, then you may be curious to learn more. Dr. Lee can easily assess your health and sleep disorder and determine if oral appliance therapy is ideal for you.

This oral appliance works by positioning the jaws and tongue slightly forward while you sleep. This helps to keep airways open in the back of the throat, greatly reducing the chances of obstruction. This device is small, custom-fitted to your mouth, comfortable, and easy to wear. You only need to wear it while you are sleeping, and it provides many of our patients with the relief they need from their sleep apnea symptoms.
